For decades, Trans-Care has remained focused on one simple goal: providing dependable medical care and professional service when and where it is needed most. That commitment continues today through the relationships we build, the clients we serve, and the standards we hold ourselves to every day.
Our Story
Our story began in the late 1960s when Charles “Butch” Turner entered the ambulance industry and founded Turner Ambulance, helping shape prehospital care throughout the Fort Worth area. During the 1970s and early 1980s, the company built a reputation for dependable service, professionalism, and a commitment to the communities it served.

Late 1960s-Late 1970s
As the organization grew, Turner Ambulance evolved into Regional Paramedic Services, expanding its reach and capabilities throughout North Texas. At its peak, Regional Paramedic Services provided 911 ambulance coverage for 14 cities throughout the Fort Worth area, helping establish a foundation for modern EMS in the region.

Late 1981-2001
In 1983, Butch pursued a distinguished career in law enforcement while continuing his commitment to public service. In 1990, his son, Charles “Lee” Turner, carried on the family tradition and continued leading Regional Paramedic Services. In 2001, the company evolved once again, becoming Trans-Care and shifting its focus from 911 ambulance operations to event medical services and medical transportation throughout Texas.
Today, three generations of the Turner family have contributed to the company’s legacy. Alongside dedicated EMTs, AEMTs, and Paramedics, our family remains actively involved in day-to-day operations, bringing decades of experience and a shared passion for serving others.
While our services have evolved over the years, our mission remains the same: providing professional, compassionate care whenever and wherever it is needed.

Charles "Butch" Turner
1946-2024
Some people leave behind accomplishments. Others leave behind a lasting impact on the people around them.
Charles “Butch” Turner was a man defined by service, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Whether serving his country in the United States Air Force, caring for patients in the EMS profession, or protecting his community through law enforcement, he approached every chapter of his life with the same dedication, integrity, and determination to make a difference.
Butch entered the ambulance industry at a time when emergency medical services looked very different than they do today. Through his work, leadership, and vision, he helped shape the growth of prehospital care throughout the Fort Worth area during a pivotal period in EMS history. The systems, standards, and services that many people rely on today were built through the efforts of individuals willing to push the profession forward, and Butch was one of those individuals.
While his accomplishments were many, the legacy he leaves behind is far greater. It lives on through the family he inspired, the people he mentored, the communities he served, and the values that continue to guide this organization today.
